Marietta Moose Lodge #1823 - "The friendliest place in town"
WOTM-Women of the Moose
Hello Co-Workers!
We hope you have had a fun summer! The Family Picnic was a great success and thank you to everyone who brought a covered dish, helped set up and tear down, or transported supplies. Thank you also to those who donated or helped sell raffle tickets for the cornhole boards fundraiser which was won by Regina Fleming from Marietta Chapter #1363.
Our WOTM officers recently attended the annual State Convention and have a lot of great information to share to better serve our chapter. We received our Award of Achievement for the 2018-2019 year.  The Award of Achievement signifies that the team has put forth every effort to follow the program of the Women of the Moose. The Award of Achievement recognizes the Chapter's success in building the membership, as well as the Chapter's financial strength. The Chapter Award of Achievement is required in order to obtain the higher degrees or personal honors within the Women of the Moose.
We would like to congratulate Jennifer Bruce who received her College of Regents Degree at the International Conference in Las Vegas.  Great job Jennifer!!!   The College of Regents Degree, which is the most prestigious personal honor, rewards Past Regents for their outstanding accomplishments and services rendered on behalf of our children and seniors. College of Regents degree holders convey a feeling of great pride and rededicate themselves to continued service to our causes, their Chapter, Lodge, and Community.  The traditional robe and mortarboard remind Collegians that they are united on a solid foundation of knowledge. They wear the cap and gown to symbolize the past efforts and future intentions of our Chapters’ leaders.
In addition, we would also like to congratulate Cheryl Hall, Jr Graduate Regent, who received her Green Cap at the Ohio State Annual Convention in Independence, Ohio.  Great job Cheryl!!!  The Green Cap is invested to accredited Junior Graduate Regents who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills while serving as Senior Regent. Recipients are presented with a symbolic green cap medallion.
We have many great plans and opportunities for the upcoming fall season such as the WOTM fundraiser (our annual Country Store) which will be held October 12, 2019 in conjunction with the chili cookoff.  Watch for flyers with the date, time, and items donated from various businesses in the community.   The second annual purse auction will be held on October 23, 2019.  Again, watch for flyers with date and times of silent auction and live auction.
Our next River Trail clean-up will be on Thursday, September 5, at 10:00 a.m. to prepare for Sternwheel weekend which begins September 6th.  We will continue cleaning the trail throughout the fall months to keep our adopted part of the trail looking good. The dates may be variable depending on what work needs to be done, so please watch the sign-up sheet in the back foyer for information on when the workdays will be.
WOTM dinners will continue to be on the second Thursday of each month as well as the first and last Friday. Fish Fry will return on September 6th. We would love to have some menu ideas and extra help in the kitchen on these nights, so if this is something that you would like to volunteer for please either talk to an officer for more information or email

Please consider attending our meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Buckeye room so that your ideas and input can be included, then join us for a beverage afterward.
Thank you!
